 I began blowing glass in 1989. I was a student at Franklin Pierce College in New Hampshire. While choosing an elective, I noticed that they offered glassblowing. I thought, when would I ever get another chance to try glassblowing? So on a whim, I decided to take the class. Right away I could tell that glassblowing would be challenging and also VERY HOT! But I became hooked. I continued to work with glass for the remainder of my college years. After graduating in 1991, I starting out working for another glassblower. It was there that I began producing and selling my own designs. In 1995, I started my own glass studio as co-owner of North Country Glass. During the years that followed, North Country Glass sold pieces to galleries locally and across the country. Now in 2012, I'm in business for myself. I no longer have my own working studio, but go out and rent the use of studio space. My beautiful gallery space, located in Washington, NH is open to the public during my open house events. I am a juried member of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen. I produce a wide range of decorative and functional glass including vases, bowls, tumblers, paperweights, ornaments and glass jewelry. My work is all original designs, freeform, and one of a kind. |
