Gigi Laberge
Gigi’s path has followed a lifelong pursuit of arts and crafts. She is an accomplished warm glass artist, wearable art creator, and designer. Her love of the landscape around her is evidenced in her glass designs. This work blends the use of dichroic, and non-coated glass to create depth, and dreams in glass panels, tiles, and wall hangings. She frequently begins her glass design process by using her fabric art to work out the layouts for her glass panels, and landscapes. Once her design takes shape, her glass tiles emerge as a bright, colorful, and fun look at the landscape. A peek into her studio reveals an artist in motion, constantly exploring, always working in the moment. Gigi and her family live in Henniker, NH and Phippsburg, ME. Gigi is an outdoor enthusiast, and enjoys her days in the mountains, and on the coast. She is inspired when traveling, and her motto is “from the mountains to the sea, I create!” Gigi holds a B.S. degree in Adult Learning and Teaching from Granite State College. Her art work has been exhibited at the New Hampshire Institute of Art, The Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests, The Sharon Arts Center, and at the Maine Maritime Museum, and is found in private collections.
