Patti Pasteur

I’m a fairly recent transplant from the south. I am a former kindergarten teacher that previously taught in Texas and Florida. I was also a professional fiber artist during the 70's and 80's weaving prize winning rugs, shawls, and wall-hangings in juried art shows.

I am drawn to anything vintage.  I enjoy creating cards, boxes, and altered books using distress inks and crackling finishes.  Combining lace, old buttons, decorative paper, fabric, old photos, and stamped images is pure bliss!

My latest passion is designing small art quilts.  A photograph I’ve taken is distorted on the computer and printed on specially prepared cotton fabric.  Hand painting, machine and hand stitching, and a variety of embellishments such as beads and buttons are added for surface design on the quilt.

I’ve been fortunate to have work published in magazines such as Belle Armoire, Somerset Memories, Haute Handbags, Take Ten, Altered Arts, Stampers’ Sampler, Quilting Arts, Studios, and Cloth, Paper, Scissors and many others.

·        Won 1st place in the Altered Art category at the Simply Southern and Paper Artist Expo in Nashville, TN.

·        Exhibited two years in a row at the International Quilt Show in Chicago.

·        Received People’s Choice Award at the annual Quilt Challenge at Quilted Threads in Henniker.

I have also taught workshops at Quilted Threads.
