Diane Bennett Weeping Willow Fine Arts Dichroic Glass and Wool Sculptures Unique creations of fused dichroic glass and wool sculptures using needle and wet felting methods.
In business for over 5 years Diane Bennett
works out of her home studio that looks out into
the pine and maple forests with classical New
England stone walls where the colors and natural
beauty that invade her studio windows provide
the visual encouragement to create the wonderful
movement of light created by blending the
dichroic glass colors. Dichroic glass with its
ability to reflect and transmit light in more
than one color, and to change its color by
varying its background or viewing angle
means that every piece of artwork like nature's
snowflake is truly unique.

The design process begins with sheets of glass, which are then fused into the designs in the studio kiln at temperatures ranging from 1300-1500 degrees. Fused glass pieces are carefully cut and shaped, and fire polished to create its highly polished finish. The jewelry is finished with findings and/or wire-wrapped sterling silver or gold-filled wire and other creations are shaped and attached to a wide array of unique items like wine stoppers, letter openers, or wall hangings.
