"Stone Arch Bridge"  by Nan McCarthy

This is a signed giclee from an original painting by Nan McCarthy of the Carr Bridge, located in Hillsborough, NH. The bridge depicted here spans the Beard Brook at the corner of Beard Road and Jones Road. Hillsborough once had more than a dozen stone arch bridges. Today five remain, four of which are used every day for auto traffic. Built in the 19th century, these bridges are believed to have been the work of Scotch-Irish stonemasons.

The giclee measures 7.5" x 16", which is the size of the original painting. It is beautifully framed in a maple frame and double mat with non-glare glass. The dimensions including the frame are 16.5" x 25". The retail value of this piece is $200.

A giclee [zhee clay, French, to spurt or squirt] is a print made by using a special, high-end inkjet printer to produce reproductions of art from a digital file that was created either by scanning or photographing the original work.

Winner: S. Trask, Bedford, NH
